Who is Brick Builders for?

Everyone! Brick Builders is designed for people of all ages. Whether you’re a child who loves to create, a teenager looking for a chilled activity, or an adult wanting some mindful downtime, there’s a place for you here.

Do I need to bring my own bricks?

Nope! We have over 100 sets to choose from!

Where is Brick Builders?

Brick Builders takes place at The Mindful Hub in Haltwhistle, located opposite Haltwhistle train station & we have free parking.

Question 5

Is Brick Builders just for Children?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. While children love the sessions, adults enjoy them just as much. Building can be calming, creative and a great way to switch off from busy everyday life.

Question 6

What's the cost?

A 2 hour session is £7.50 per set builder - if you want to share a set with someone there's no extra charge for this - if you want to build your own set at the same time, then you just pay another £7.50 for each builder that wants their own set.

Do I get to keep the set

No, sorry, sets are just to build here.  We don't as a rule sell sets.

I'm missing a bit - argh!

Relax, bits to go missing sometimes despite our best efforts, we do have an extensive selection of spare pieces and we can usually find one to match your missing bit or at a push one in a slightly different colour or shade.

When can I be a Brick Builder - do I have to book?

Do you sell Lego?

As a rule no - although from time to time we may have an odd second hand set for sale.

If you're looking for a common spare part to complete one of your own, come down and we'll see if we can help for a reasonable cost.  NB we won't supply minifigs or large specialist pieces.

Is the hub just for neurodivergent people?

No, everyone is welcome at the hub.As neurodivergent people ourselves we think there's a place for what we offer in terms of a softer calmer environment than many coffee shops or childrens activities, and thats why we created the hub, as somewhere different where you can feel free to be yourself.

Are you only for people who want to build Lego

No, just come for a coffee, snack, or take a look at what we have - you don't have to be in to Lego to enjoy the hub.

Do you sell coffee beans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely.We prefer to sell whole bean (unground coffee) so that you can grind it freshly at home, but we can grind it for espresso or filter if you need it.We haveKenyan AA beans which we use for our filter coffeeTanzanian Kongoni which we use for our espressoSwiss water decaffinated Brazilian or Colombian for our decaf (Depends on what's available on the day).We sell in 250g, 500g, or 1kg bags.Prices will not usually compete with supermarket prices, but then again we can tell you the date the coffee was roasted - not just an arbitary best before date, which can be a year or more after it was roasted.  Our smallest bag of 250g is usually more than the 227 or 200g bags that you normally get in supermarkets more recently too (shrinkflation).We can get other coffee's from Pumphreys if you like, but it would be a 1kg minimum order to keep the price we can offer reasonable.

Do you offer Duplo/toddler/Baby activities?

Sorry but our Lego play activities are 4+ due to the amount of small pieces about.  We do not offer Duplo.We are a carpeted multi-purpose venue used for floor based Yoga, so do not have the space to provide or store things like high chairs, provide a baby change, or floor space that is easily cleanable from spills from baby weaning/feeding.We welcome breastfeeding mams at any time the cafe side of the business is open, even if you just need space to feed and a drink of water, just come in and find a space you're comfortable with.  We'll try our best to help you with anything you need.

I'm not sure whether my SEN child will cope with the environment

We have taken a lot of time to make the hub a low demand environment - that means soft colours and lighting, a low level of noise and paying attention to details such as changing the colour temperature and brightness of lights in the toilets, oh, and no hand dryers - paper towels are what we use here.Equally we understand tables and chairs aren't for everyone - so we have an area near the front window with foam floor tiles and cushions if you'd prefer - we're really flexible on trying to accomodate you as an individual - if there's anything else we can do whilst you're here - please just ask.  We also have free mindful colouring for adults and children if Lego isn't your thing, please just ask for our folder and a set of colouring pencils.For those that walking aids or wheelchairs we have a no step entrance, and can open both entrance doors if it's easier.  We also have a disabled toilet.
