What is the Mindful Hub
The Mindful Hub is a multi-purpose space designed to be a calm space where you can take a break from the stresses of everyday life.
Thought has gone into making it a low demand environment with neuroaffirming priniciples at its heart. We blend an independant micro coffee shop with creative Lego play, yoga, education, training, and holistic therapies, we have created a space where commitment to being authentically you, and your wellbeing is at the heart of everthing that we do. Visit by yourself, or with friends
The hub is also available for private hire for celebrations, meetings, business events, teambuilding, and other more - please contact us to discuss your requirements.

About Us &
The Mindful Hub
The Mindful Hub has been created by Husband and Wife team, Keith & Susan Slaney. They developed The Mindful Hub in order to create a wellness centre, sensory safe space, event space and cafe with a difference.
The Mindful Hub is in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, in the heart of Hadrians Wall Country, and is home to Northern Balance Wellness, which is Susan's business, and the cafe side which also offers Lego Play sessions for everyone, as well as Cothu education courses to help parents and carers understand and support autistic children.
Brick Builders has been developed from our family's passion and collection of Lego. Brick Builders sessions are suitable for children and adults and are available any time the cafe side of the business is open.

We offer sessions for home educated children, retreat days and bespoke training around neurodiversity and autism.
We're also looking to add an AFOL (Adult Fans Of Lego) evening to our schedule shortly. Find more details of the next session on our facebook page.
We also offer free mindful colouring activities for adults and children, just ask when you order and we'll be happy to show you what selection we have available today.
These sessions are complemented by good coffee from Pumphreys Coffee, and Tea temples from Teapigs.
So whether you're a local, nearby, walking on cycling by, passing through, or on holiday we'd love to welcome you to The Mindful Hub, where we think about things a bit differently.
The current selection of sets available to build at Brick Builders can be found here (12mb PDF file):
What Happens at the Mindful Hub

Cothu Training
We're proud to offer Cothu training right here at the Mindful Hub.
Cothu is different - it is developed, researched, and led by autistic people to help you understand your child from an autistic perspective.
It's about understanding, not managing behaviour or teaching children to be 'resilient', or to 'fit in'.

Keith's Coffee Blog
If you love your coffee then watch the space..

Charity of the year
One of the goals of The Mindful Hub is to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of Neurodiversity, and education is a big part of this.
We're proud to announce our support for 'The Hidden' (previously known as 'The Hidden 20%) as our key charity.
We understand that people may have pre-conceived ideas about what neurodivergence is - or may not have any idea what it is at all, other than tabloid or other media sensationalist articles.
The Hidden is different - they're not afraid to ask the difficult questions, or to address controversial issues head on. Keith has found this podcast truly inspirational and really thought provoking.
We understand that as a neurodivergent person we may often be seen to some as quirky, odd, strange, trendy (I’m never quite sure why people would think this!), (insert your own description here), and very much subject to social bias known as 'thin slice judgement' where people who aren't neurodivergent can take an very quick dislike to someone who is, simply because of their non verbal communication. As a neurodivergent individual this is really hard as through no fault of your own, you're instantly at a disadvantage and often left feeling isolated.
Whether you're neurodivergent or not, this podcast is a great way to improve your understanding about people that think differently.
